That’s how I was feeling at that moment, sitting in my husband’s desk chair, holding a confession letter ending our twenty-year marriage in my lap. The song was over.
I couldn’t stay in a marriage after that, I’d always be looking at him—wondering if he broke his vows again.
My stomach churned hearing he’d been married, maybe with a bit of jealousy, but also concern. Given the anguish on his face and how hard he squeezed my hand, this story wouldn’t be a happy one.
